How It Works For Teachers Are you a graduate who is passionate about teaching literacy creatively in state schools? All of our teachers are trained experts in our method of teaching Latin, ancient history and culture. Whether you have a Classics degree, GCSE Latin or a degree in a related discipline, being a Latin Programme teacher means becoming a passionate expert and a creative and inspiring teacher. We work in-curriculum in primary schools across the whole of Key Stage 2 to develop pupils' literacy through Latin. We place our excellent part-time teachers to teach several classes per week in one or more of our partner schools in London. A typical day will begin around 8.30am when you will arrive in your assigned school to prepare resources and touch base with teachers and your day will consist of teaching several 45min-1-hour lessons to classes of around 30 pupils each. Your Schedule Some of our teachers work four days per week in multiple schools, while some can only commit to half a day in one school due to other professional or childcare commitments. We work together to develop a timetable of teaching that works for you and our schools. Teaching is term-time only across the whole of the academic year and represents a real opportunity to develop warm professional relationships with pupils, school(s) and communities. Training All teachers receive rigorous training and an enhanced DBS check, whether or not they have prior knowledge of Latin or Qualified Teaching Status so that they fully understand our approach and ethos. We provide teachers with a course outline, scheme of work and online access to our bank of teaching resources to help them plan lessons. Following the training period, the teaching team meet monthly to share ideas and teaching strategies. We encourage a culture where individuality is recognised and valued and where you can feel supported to develop your own style of teaching and contribute to our bank of games, songs and raps. Benefits The benefits of working with us include a generous salary and annual leave. We offer flexible working from home during school holidays and the chance to be part of a team of individuals who value creativity and are inspired by ancient and modern language, literature and culture.
