Camden School for Girls is unique in being the only non-selective state school to offer Ancient Greek at GCSE level and beyond. Generous contributions from our alumnae, families and friends ensure that we can continue to offer this fantastic opportunity. Our goal is to introduce Greek to as many students as possible through an after-school programme. The GCSE is open to all students from CSG and beyond: We currently have a number of students from other schools who are preparing to sit their GCSE in Greek with us this summer. And the programme is free to all participants! Greek is a springboard into higher education, not only into Classics courses but also into a range of fields that require analytical, linguistic, historical or cultural competencies. Interest in the hub is high, with three schools represented on the GCSE course and an additional six schools attending extra one-off events within the last year.
Camden School for Girl’s Ancient Greek Fundraising Campaign:
Please help Camden School for Girls to maintain this opportunity for their students, and for those in the local area. We’re aiming to raise £30,000 to support 3 years’ teaching and learning.
